Abbeylara

Abbeylara is a quiet midlands town in County Longford, sitting amid rolling farmland about 8 kilometres northwest of Granard via the R194. It's roughly 120 kilometres from Dublin through Edgeworthstown and Granard, or 25 kilometres northeast of Longford town via the R198. The area has about 10 public fast charging stations for electric vehicles, though you'd want to plan ahead in this rural setting. The town takes its name from 12th-century Cistercian abbey ruins that you can still see near the centre, with original stone walls standing among the modern houses.
