Abbeydorney

Abbeydorney is a small Kerry village about 15 kilometers northeast of Tralee on the R551, positioned between Tralee Bay and the Kerry Mountain foothills. Most visitors come via the N69 from Limerick through Listowel, or from Cork via the N22 and Tralee. The R551 gets busy with commuter traffic between Tralee and Listowel during peak times. The village offers handy access to Tralee's facilities and Ballybunion's coast. EV drivers can use about 25 fast chargers around Tralee for longer trips. The village takes its name from 12th-century Cistercian abbey ruins that still stand near the center, their weathered Gothic arches creating an atmospheric centerpiece.
