The room layout was perfect, with the kitchen, desk and living area downstairs, and the bed and bath upstairs. The dormer windows upstairs were lovely for listening to rain while we slept, and being able to pop them open for fresh air and a beautiful view across town. The bathroom was wonderful, with a huge bathtub big enough to fit both of us. I got a 90 minute spa treatment that was great, and very affordable.

Pécs is a lovely place in Hungary with an expansive cultural heritage. The Cathedral, Széchenyi square and Zsolnay quarter are just a few of the must see spots. You can have very good food and wine (or beer) in Király street.
If you're feeling adventurous, Mecsek has the most amazing trails But even if you don't have whole day for hiking just make sure to visit Tettye and walk up to the observatory there.
Pécs is doable by foot most of the times, but has very accessible bus service as well. You can buy tickets on the bus with cash (forint).
Make sure to check the actual events (and book in advance) to experience the street market vibes, when all the best wineries of Hungary and traditional food stalls represent themselves.
See you in Pécs!

Pecs is a terrific little picturesque town with heaps of interesting churches, a mosque, a synagogue, museums and ancient burial sites. Most things are very close by. On Sunday everything is closed except cafes and it's like a ghost town which is good for avoiding hordes of tourists. Pecs is neat as a pin and would probably win a tidy town contest. There's plenty of food places and our favorite was the Korheli pub. I'm glad we chose to stop here for a couple of nights.

Not a crowded city, plenty of things to see. Older waiters and cashiers don't really speak foreign languages, even basic stuff was hard to convey to them, so have that in mind. Younger ones are more fluent in that department.

Many of the sights -- the Csontvary Museum, the Cathedral, in particular, are within easy walking distance of the Fonix hotel, where I stayed. The city is the home of a university, so the streets were filled with students and other young people. My trip was a Wednesday day trip by train from Budapest, so other than the main sights and the fact that the performance in the theatre was a one-man show in Hungarian, which I do not speak, I regret not having planned another, full day. The next time I visit Hungary, I'll spend a couple of days in Pécs; for what I saw whetted my appetite for more.

It's a beautiful city, has great restaurants, and quite a few things to do.
There are good places particularly for Italian food and seafood amazingly in this very landlocked city.
Plenty of quirky places to visit such as the cat cafe and the mosque church.

Lots of history in this tiny little town.
Lots of history in this tiny little town.
Beautiful historic downtown with great restaurants, bakeries to die for.
Roman ruins all over Pecs, St. Istvan tee with beautiful cathedral. Underground Roman ruins.
Near by wine country and thermal bath only about 30- 40 min drive.
Lively nightlife , very vibrant, very clean city.
Very satisfied. When I am in Pécs, I always book a room here. The receptionists were - and are always - polite and helpful. The rooms are clean, modern and well-equipped. The breakfast is delicious, the cook and the lady (who is always around the dining area) are there to enquire if you have everything or you will need something. Last but not least, the environment is breathtaking, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful trees, the whole area is quiet and calm.
The wonderful host met us at the included secure parking garage. She was so sweet to walk us to the apartment and show us around. The apartment overlooks the busy pedestrian street. The two bedrooms were large and comfortable. The main living area had air conditioning, a large couch and a large table with stools. The bathroom was modern with a large shower. Decor was stylish and cute. This was the perfect location to explore Pecs and a great value.
A fantastic Art Nouveau hotel, which has quite a special cultural history in Pécs. From the façade, through the breakfast room, lobby and staircases an incredible piece of architecture and wonderfully atmospheric. Lovely staff, nice breakfast buffet and I was more than happy with my standard room as a single traveller.
The staff was very friendly and gave me tips about Pecs but I also shared nice conversations with them. During my stay, there was a couple staying at the hotel which ate vegan and the staff went out of their way to accomodate there needs. So nice and so friendly. Relaxed atmosphere.
I liked everything about this property! The key handover was convenient and easy. The apartment was so cool, quirky and so central to everything we wanted to see in Pecs. Maja was great with any requests we had! I would definitely come back again if I was ever to return to Pecs.
a small, modest hotel. simple, very clean room. near the main attractions in Pecs, literally a five minute walk from Kiraly Street, the main square and the mosque. very decent breakfast included in the price. the staff at the reception are extremely friendly
For us it was the perfect place to stay in Pécs - central but quiet, lovely staff, good size apartment with everything we needed, parking in the courtyard, good breakfast and excellent value all in all. Would definitely recommend.
An impeccably clean gem at the top of Pécs rented by an incredible hostess. A house on its own with two distinct spaces outside in the garden to relax. The place offers a calm atmosphere, peace, cosiness and comfort.
Fantastic hotel, beautifully designed, spacious rooms, great service and ultimate location in the city center of Pécs. I booked the place for my parents and they said they would come back again any time.
Easy late check in with detailed instruction send via text, very close to Pecs' regional bus station, fridge in the room, low price compared to other places in Hungary (but about average for Pecs)
The hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is very good and varied. The staff is friendly and helpful. All recommendations 🙂
The view from the hotel is fabulous. The decor is very nice and unique. The breakfast is so good. Only one thing we don’t like is no elevator, but it’s understandable.
Thank you!
