Local businesses lacked the customer service mentality that seems prevalent throughout Ireland. Very few dining options, most of them full. Cobh is delightful, quite small but with many things to do...
Cobh is delightful, quite small but with many things to do mainly concerned with history of the town. It is associated with the Titanic, but amazingly the infrastructure for the big liners is still there: the White Star Line and Cunard offices are still there as is the train station which brought so many travellers to the town. There are plenty of good restaurants in the town and the town is very easy to get around. The only problem is the hilliness of the town. Also Cork city is very close by.

I didn't realize that Cobh was so small and booked two...
I didn't realize that Cobh was so small and booked two nights there. In hindsight I should have just made it a day trip from Cork. I visited the Titanic Experience which was very informative. It is only about 45 minutes long so I recommend checking it out. There is a completely gluten free cafe there called Hoban's Treats, which was great for me as I am celiac. However, my kids also enjoyed their cake and cookies. I was only let down by two things. The boat trips to Spike island stop at around 2pm and I wasn't aware of that. Also, a number of restaurants were closed even though their sites and Google had them as open. It was difficult to find a place to have dinner that could cater for my dietary requirements.michaelmvellaMalta - 10Scored 10

The spacious en-suite has an amazing view of Cobh harbour and is super clean. Quick and sufficient hot water in the bathroom. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, they helped us book a nice dinner and gave nice recommendations for things to do in town. Delicious breakfast with plenty of options and fresh juice, fruits and yogurt. This is so far my most pleasant stay in Ireland also world widely, would definitely recommend!!

Our host Ronnie, was very welcoming, helpful and informative of what to do and see locally. Our room was clean and inviting and the large bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was in the large conservatory with spectacular views, and was first class with a wide selection to choose from. Our room was very comfortable and had a great view of the tug outside and the ships crossing the harbour, from the window. It was warm and cosy, with a very comfortable bed. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and both were well presented and delicious. parking was also provided, which is always a positive. Staff were friendly and helpful.
